Note HP equips the P1606dn with a starter cartridge which only holds half the toner of a new CE278A toner cartridge, this starter cartridge is rated at 1,100 pages versus 2,100.

Overall these printers are of very good quality, for a low end printer. We don’t see very many repair jobs on these models past the initial 1 year HP warranty. Mostly because when they do break after the first year, customers choose to buy a newer model rather than fix the old one. The cost per page is relatively high compared to some higher end printers, even when using remanufactured cartridges. These printers are a good solution if you want laser quality at home, or need a desk top printer for a very light user. Expect these units to be good for up to 100,000 pages.
TrueType MICR Font, not included. Note, while this printer does support PCL5e, this printer is a host based printer and does not have the capacity to store a physical font device like some of the higher end printers.
